I hope you won't take this the wrong way, but why do you post the list of hymns?

I think it is great because my son (12) likes to sing hymns and play them on the piano if he knows them. However, he sometimes doesn't know the ones we sing on a given Sunday and then just tunes out. If I had a list like this from our church, he would be able to pick out a few new ones to learn to play well in advance and I think he would really enjoy it. Over time he would get to learn a lot more and be able to sing more during the service. So I really like the idea of a list in advance.

However, I wonder what your purpose is in posting them here.

Dear Silly Girl,

Thanks for your comments and question.

I started posting hymn listings mainly for my own benefit, so that I would have them "stored" in a convenient location; and also for my organists, so they would have that information ready to hand.

I've continued to do it for those reasons, and also because I've had so many people communicate with me that it is helpful to them. Any time I can be of help and benefit to others, especially to my brother pastors and fellow Christians, I rejoice in that opportunity.

Blessings to you and your family in this glorious Eastertide. I love to hear of young Christians who enjoy the hymns of the Church. It is one of my greatest delights at Emmaus.
