Well, Dan, that concoction would also not be true ;-)
But of course, what I meant was that evangelism is not the goal or purpose of worship. Even though it is often approached and treated and discussed as though it were.
The worship of the Holy Trinity is the Christian faith and life. Such true worship of the one true God is ever and always its own raison d’être. It is the content and character of our life with God in Christ, by His grace.
In fact, to undertake the worship of the Holy Trinity with ulterior motives or agendas is nothing short of idolatry. To do so, for example, with the goal and purpose of evangelism, actually would be "the worship of evangelism."
Well put, Dr. Stuckwisch. And this is why the reorientation of worship toward the goal of evangelism is a more serious issue than is generally recognized.

The goal of the Holy Trinity is the worship of evangelism?
Hmmmm. Not sure my Methodist and CG people would say that. Sure, they sing songs Mormons and sometimes JWs could sing, but... :)
